The Bennetts lead a quiet life in the Bluegrass area of Kentucky, until their world is shattered when their oldest child, T.K., is diagnosed with leukemia. I enjoyed this first book by Katherine A. Lawrence very much. I liked that it is not another "typical" vampire story. The descriptions throughout the book were amazing and I felt like I was in the middle of New Orleans when T.K and Rob were getting their "training." I thoroughly enjoyed reading Drop of Blood! In a world where, often, evil gets top billing on the nightly news, it's nice to read a feel-good book that establishes a sense of family and good prevailing over evil.
This was an excellent book which I enjoyed very much. It is a very exciting book which I could not put down. I read it in two days. It is not just about vampires but is a very touching story about the relationship and love between two brothers. I am very anxious to read the second book in the series. I highly recommend this book.
